Overview

ANACO a Division of McWane – is a leading manufacturer of plumbing joining systems and couplings products located in Corona, CA. The company is currently seeking candidates for a Quality Control Engineer.

This person will plan, coordinate, supervise personnel(8) and direct quality assurance programs designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards. Oversees total plant quality from in-bound raw materials to outbound finished product, as well as looks for ways to improve product design and manufacturing. Organizes and manages quality assurance function in close cooperation with the customers and with the Company’s management team.

Responsibilities

  • Manages quality control department; directs employees engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Reviews all data obtained during quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Assists in the selection, training and development of production personnel and participates in their performance evaluation and development. Addresses areas of concern with team members and take necessary actions to promote excellent performance i.e. coaching, disciplining and termination.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes, producing statistical reports from the data. 
  • Investigates and resolves customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs, and designs, implements, and delivers necessary training to appropriate personnel.
  • Delivers hands on improvements with process mapping, standard work, 5S workplace organization, and simple/visual controls.
  • Formulates and manages the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the quality control.
  • Maintains controls and documentation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in a technical field)
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years related in a supervisory role, experience preferred in manufacturing.
  • 5 years of quality management experience preferred
  • Strong oral, written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint (or similar)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  •  Experience working with industry quality assurance codes and standards•            
  •  Knowledgeable of lean principles and tools
  •  Strong statistical analysis skills 
  •  Experience in quality system audits
  • Familiar with Statistic Process Control
